Hi, I’m Sonja.

I believe in moving, sweating, strengthening, and smiling every day. During COVID-19, I launched virtual offerings to provide multiple ways for everyone to join me in doing what I believe. Why? Because this is my recipe for self-care and we all need to care for ourselves now more than ever. When you care for yourself, you can then care for your community.

I’ve been teaching spin and yoga for 6+ years. I’ve been fortunate to teach in studios across Washington DC, on rooftops, backyards, and now in my living room!

Interested in a custom, private class?

I love designing experiences for individuals and for groups. A private session is great for some 1:1 time to deepen your practice, or as a way to convene friends, colleagues, or family. With a custom class we can celebrate birthdays, holidays, team milestones, bachelorettes, or even just making through another week. Explore my private offerings on WellSet!

A bit more about me…

I have been practicing yoga and specifically yoga sculpt for over a decade. After developing stress fractures in high school from running track and field, I looked for a consistently challenging, fun, and injury free workout and fell in love with yoga sculpt. My reasons for coming to the mat often change, but I can always rely on the workout to be both challenging and rewarding. After getting my certification at CorePower in 2014 I taught at Vida Fitness in Washington DC.

Teaching yoga (and spin!) has taught me a great deal about being physically and mentally present (both on and off the mat/bike) and shown me time and time again the power of community and of positivity. I plan my classes around the beat and feeling of the music, and you can expect some bad jokes (but not too many), motivational cues, and a big smile. You can also always count on the fact we will NEVER do burpees (nope) and we will always end with a happy baby pose.

Now more than ever, taking care of yourself is a critical part of taking care of your community. Staying physically and mentally healthy and strong helps you, your friends, your family, your neighborhood small businesses, and your entire community. I’m happy that one of the outcomes of COVID-19 is reducing the stigma that self-care is selfish. So, let’s take care of ourselves - together!

I’m currently a MBA Candidate at The Michigan Ross School of Business and based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Go blue!
